Adams Performance Kawasakis set for Atlanta
 Real Street champion Jeremy Teasley
Adams Performance team boss Coby Adams and crew chief Garron Miller
are stuffing the Monster Energy Drink trailer with killer Kawasaki
ZX14s, ranging from the nearly stock Supersport ’14 through the nitrous
huffers and on up to the turbo Pro Street ’14 ridden by ridden by
Rickey Gadson. “Everything’s together and tested and we won’t be
playing around in Commerce,” said Adams, preparing for the AMA Dragbike
MTC Elmer Trett Nationals April 10-11 at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce,
Georgia.
The team had a great outing at the season opener in Valdosta in
March. “We spent countless hours completing the new nitrous Pro Street
bike and finished it the night before the Valdosta race,” said Adams.
“Since our Real Street champion Jeremy Teasley isn’t allowed to defend
his championship in that class, we built him this new rocket. With zero
testing, the bike went 7.69, 7.43, and 7.42, approaching 190 mph.
That’s very impressive for the first weekend for the bike. We would
especially like to thank AEM’s Devin Pearce for the support at the race
on Friday and Saturday. The AEM ECU is a great addition to the new
bike, since it’s worked very well on our turbo Pro Street bike” Teasley
had to race teammate Gadosn in round 1 and redlit.
Despite any testing at all in the offseason, Rickey started the
weekend off nice with some 7.20 passes at 202 mph. “We picked back up
from the improvements we made last year,” said Adams. Gadson was unable
to slip past new class record holder Robert Budgell in round 2.
Adams Performance’s relationship with Roger Starrette and RS
Motorsports continues, and that’s where the team found its greatest
success in Valdosta. “Mark Billiter and Rickey had an awesome weekend
in Real Street, knocking off everyone until it was a Roger
Sterrate-owned, Adams horsepower, all-ZX14 final with Rickey nudging
past Mark for the win,” said an obviously elated Adams.
 Rickey Gadson
Teasley made it to the Supersport final against Joey Gladstone,
where Jeremy was a little late on the tree and gave the win away
despite a quicker time. “The bike hasn’t been touched all winter,” said
Coby. “We put a battery in it and brought it down, so if nothing else
that shows just how fast the Adams Supersport ZX14 truly is. Jeremy
will be ready to crack the throttle next time.
“All in all it was a great weekend for Adams Performance, with our
new bike breaking the old nitrous Pro Street the record first time out,
stacking the deck in the Real Street final, and going to the Supersport
final. Now we’re really looking forward to this weekend in Atlanta!”
